Maureen O’Sullivan

Artist Bio

Graduated from The High School of Art and Design, NYC, where I majored in advertising and illustration. Attended fine art classes at Fordham University, College at Lincoln Center, and The Art Student’s League in Manhattan. While living in NYC, I displayed my art in some non-traditional venues such as the lobby of The Fine Arts Theater on E 58th Street, Manhattan, and The Dime Savings bank. For a number of years I created pet portraits from photos using a technique that I developed over time, scanning the photo into my computer and rendering it with fine art tools in my graphics program. I then printed them out on my wide-format printer, matted and framed them. I received quite a few commissions from ‘word of mouth’ and still have copies of some of the pet portraits I especially liked.

I loved to travel in my younger days, and find painting scenes of natural beauty – either made-up or real – the next best thing.
