Vicky Gore is a native Kingstonian who has been creating art most of her life. Her early career was spent working in acrylics and doing pencil drawings, mostly depicting the World War II era, a favorite subject of hers. A few years ago, Vicky re-discovered pastels. The rich, vibrant colors and soft textures provided the inspiration she needed and she now works solely in this medium. Vicky is drawn to the beauty of the local scenery and amazing sunsets. Vicky is also inspired by the paintings of world-renowned pastelist, Elizabeth Mowry and had the pleasure of taking a class with her. Vicky has exhibited her pencil drawings in local shows and has won some awards. She has also had several solo shows in the past 2 years where she has exhibited her pastels. Vicky would like to invite you to visit Catskill Art Supply in the Kingston Plaza in June to see her artwork on display at the store.
