I enjoy painting when the light plays on the surface of water, when trees, mountains and sky weave their forms with a lake or a stream. I look for the movements of the light and the wind revealing a tapestry of colors on the surface of waters.

While painting I follow the rhythmical movements of the water as I hear the trees whispering their story. I paint as mapping the spaces of light. By painting in front of the same lakes every month, year after year I am able to observe and feel deeply the changes taking place in our environment.

Following in the footsteps of the Hudson River Artists, I celebrate our river and The Catskill Mountain and wish to preserve the aliveness of our environment, our Hudson River Valley and our Earth. Our environment is part of our beautiful community.

I have been painting the lakes, rivers and forest of the Catskill Mountains since October of 1980, and it was then when for the first time in my adult life that I felt completely at home, with a deep feeling of interconnectedness with Nature.

In 1986 I made my home in this mountains. I live in Woodstock, NY. This is the place I love every day, in every season.
